Danish Transport Transport Authority is responsible for planning and implementing procurement procedures for operation of ferry and railway services in Denmark.
Furthermore, the Danish Transport Authority is in charge of following up on the performance of contractors.
New procurements are initiated by political decision and the contracts pertain to ferry and railway services that are exposed to competition.
Danish Transport Authority also handles procurement procedures for ferry services that serve to tie together different parts of the country, that is, ferry services that cannot be operated on an entirely commercial basis.
